We put Margo to bed last night at 8:00 and she slept until 6:00. Wish I could say the same! I must have stood over her crib a dozen times. I guess I kept checking to make sure we really did have her! She woke up happy and we went downstairs for a quick breakfast and then on to Civil Affairs. There were probably 50 families there so the wait was long. There was a large group from Spain and another large group of French Canadians. Margo sat on my lap and took it all in. She likes to carry snacks with her so she had a piece of bread in each hand. She will eat a few bites but mostly just likes to have them for security. After leaving Civil Affairs we went to the Notary’s Office. This was a quick trip and we were out the door in 5 minutes. At both places, they asked us “Do you like the baby?” I guess this is there way of making sure we really do want to adopt her! We headed back to the hotel for lunch and Margo’s nap. We have kept the schedule the orphanage Director gave us and she is like clockwork. She went to bed and woke up at the exact time they had written down. She went to sleep for her nap and then woke-up at the exact time as well. This is working pretty good—we are going to have to figure out the time difference and try to stick with this schedule! Margo is a little timid so we decided not to overwhelm her by going out in the crowded streets. We hung out in the room until our guide picked us up for dinner. As we walked down the street she started laughing. We have heard her laugh a few times but nothing like this! She laughed the entire walk to the restaurant. After we were seated she kept making little faces and laughing. Many people in the restaurant came over to our table and crowded around her—they would play with her cheeks and laugh. I guess the only English word they knew was Hello because they said that over and over again! It was a fun dinner and the food was good. I was thankful to have a nice meal as we have seen some pretty strange dishes! We gave Margo a bath before bed and she did not like that at all. She would arch her back and scream. I was so glad when we were done. We put her to bed and she was asleep in a few minutes. Other than laughing and crying we have not heard her make a peep. She just sits and takes it all in. She wants to be carried or held the entire time and she has not walked since the Director put her down at placement. I can tell she is not sure about us but she had a pretty good day.
Congratulations Melody!! Margo is beautiful! I had just checked your blog, and nothing was posted. I come back, and there you are!! I am so happy I checked "one more time" before going to bed (I worked last night). I am so happy for you and your family.

So happy things are going well! She looks so sweet in her pictures. Bath times for her were in a little bucket, so she was probably overwhelmed with the tub. Can't wait to watch her thrive with her family!
